I often get asked how I do as much as I do (garden, canning, homeschooling, caring for many children, cooking from scratch 3 meals per day, cleaning house, etc.). My answer is “I just do it!” In other words, I do not procrastinate or worry about the job ahead, I just BEGIN! When a room needs cleaned which has been piled up (like our garage right now!), I just start! before I know it I have made a significant dent and finish before I know it! If you look at the entire job, you will continue to put it off! Just begin! Take little steps! You can even commit to 10 or 15 minutes each day! Its amazing what you can do in just 15 minutes!
If there is something new I want to learn to do, or a habit I need to break, or a habit I want to begin, I just begin! I also try to be consistent! It is said we can learn new habits in 21 days! That’s three weeks to learn a new habit or stop a bad habit! Which means you can learn 17 new habits a year! Just begin! Just do it as the old NIKE slogan went!
In the Bible, there are few victories every won where the people did not have to first overcome or go through the battle in order to achieve the victory! The same is true in even the smallest parts of life!
I encourage you to just begin! Get out there and start! Take it little by little and overcome! Win your battle! Be a victor! Set small goals and reach for more! You can do it! Just begin!
